Steve Settembrino

Coach Settembrino, just named the Head Coach at St Paul’s, will be joining Predators Lacrosse as a director. Coach Settembrino coached collegiately at Mercyhurst, Binghamton and his alma mater UMBC. At Mercyhurst, Coach Settembrino helped guide the Lakers to the 2011 Division 2 National Championship. During his playing career for the Retrievers UMBC won the America East Championship in 2005, 2008,2009 and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2007. Coach Settembrino was also named the Retriever’s Unsung Hero in 2009. Coach Settembrino grew up in Yorktown NY, a lacrosse hotbed. While at Yorktown, Coach Settembrino was a 4 year varsity letter winner, a 2003 NYS Champion, a two year captain and a 2004 All American.

Matt Musci

Coach Musci, the offensive coordinator at Towson University will be joining the Predators as Youth Director. Prior to Towson Coach Musci was an offensive coordinator at Providence College, Lafayette College, St Leo University and Drexel University. Coach Musci was a standout midfielder for Drexel University during his playing days. The all around midfielder was a captain for the Dragons and was also named to the prestigious North South Senior All Star Game. Coach Musci will bring an incredible resume to the Predators along with attention to detail and a passion for developing lacrosse players to meet and succeeded their potential. Coach Musci works very hard to establish player coach relationships and his passion for lacrosse is evident in the way he coaches on the field.

Rick Brocato

Coach Brocato is the current head coach at Towson High School.  A true teacher of the game, Coach Brocato values relationships with his players as well as developing players of all ages through the fundamentals.  Coach Brocato spent 17 seasons at St Paul’s as the varsity head coach.  Under his leadership Coach Brocato has a program high 241 wins, made the MIAA A Conference playoffs 15 times and won the MIAA A conference championship in 2010.  At St Paul’s Coach Brocato coached 47 All Americans and 3 Maryland Kelly Award Winners.  Coach Brocato is currently a  7th grade science teacher at St Paul’s, he values relationships and stresses the importance of coaching the game of lacrosse the right way.  Coach Brocato’s value to the Predators Lacrosse program cannot be measured.

Trey Whitty

Coach Whitty is the current Athletic Director at St Paul’s.  He was a 1999 graduate of St Paul’s and continued his playing career at the University of Virginia.  At Virginia, Coach Whitty was a 4-year letter winner with the lacrosse program.  In 2003 Coach Whitty was a Captain on the Cavaliers 2003 National Championship team, earned All American Honors and won the teams “Unsung Hero” award.  Coach Whitty continued his playing career in the MLL for several years after college.  Coach Whitty was a 6-year defensive coordinator at McDonogh guiding the Eagles to the MIAA championship in 2016.  Coach Whitty was named Assistant Coach of the Year at McDonogh in 2011 & 2016.  Coach Whitty has been the St Paul’s Head Coach for the past 4 seasons.  Coach Whitty coaches with passion and is a true teacher of the game of lacrosse.  Coach Whitty stresses fundamentals, identifies the strengths of players and plays to his team’s strengths.  Being a top coach in the area, Coach Whitty is a homerun for the Predators Lacrosse Program. 

Mitch Whiteley

Mitch Whiteley who was head coach at St. Paul’s (Md.) from 1989 to 1994 then again from 2000 to 2005, currently is serving as assistant coach on the varsity staff. Whiteley won championships in 1991, 1992 and 2004 for the Crusaders. Coach Whiteley works primarily with goaltenders and the list of collegiate goaltenders he has developed is outstanding. Virginia, UNC, Army, Bryant, Marquette, Loyola just in the past 10 seasons.

James Margraff

Coach Margraff is a graduate of McDonogh School in 2016.  He was a captain and starting defender of the 2016 MIAA championship team. Coach Margraff played collegiately  at Rhodes College.  He was named The SAA (Southern Athletic Association) Newcomer of the year.  Coach was First Team All-SAA, SAA tournament MVP  in 2019 and Team MVP in 2020.  Coach Margraff was a captain of the Rhodes team his Junior and Senior year.  Coach Margraff is currently an assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach and 5th grade math teacher at McDonogh School.  Coach Margraff’s experience and character is a huge asset to the Predators and we are excited to have him aboard working with our teams.
